§ 110-82. Condition of vehicles; inspection of vehicles.

  • (a)

    All buses shall be kept in a clean, sanitary and safe mechanical condition.

    (b)

    Owners or operators of buses in the city are hereby required to submit to the city clerk on or before October 15 of each year, and once every six months thereafter during the time the permit authorizing bus operations under this article is in force and effect, or at such other times as the city commission may from time-to-time designate, a written statement from an owner or operator of a duly licensed garage in the city which has been approved by the city commission, that the motor vehicle equipment used by such owner or operator in the conduct of bus operations in the city has been inspected by a qualified mechanic in the employ of such garage, and that the inspection reveals that the motor vehicle equipment is in good condition and safe to operate as a bus. Buses failing to pass the inspection required in this section shall not be operated upon the streets of the city until such time as the same shall have been placed in good condition and repair.

    (c)

    All buses shall be subject to periodic inspection by the city commission or its authorized representative.
