§ 78-258. Board of trustees established; membership.

  • The general administration, management and responsibility for the proper operation of the general employees' retirement system is hereby vested in a board of trustees. The board shall consist of five trustees as follows:

    (1)

    Two trustees shall be members of the city commission appointed by the mayor, one of whom may be the mayor.

    (2)

    Two trustees shall be full-time employees of the city who shall be elected by the majority of the active general employees who are members of the plan.

    (3)

    The fifth member shall be chosen by a majority of the previous four members and such person's name shall be submitted to the city commission. Upon receipt of that person's name, the city commission shall, as a ministerial duty, appoint such person to the board of trustees as its fifth member.
