§ 66-2. Attempt to commit offense.

Any person who attempts to commit any offense prohibited by this chapter, and in such attempt does any act toward the commission of such offense, but fails in the perpetration, or is intercepted or prevented in the execution of the same, shall be punished as provided in section 2-431 et seq.
