§ 110-109. Grounds for denial, suspension or revocation.

  • (a)

    Bus operator's permits issued under the provisions of this article may be denied, revoked or suspended for a specified period of time by the city commission if the holder thereof has violated any of the provisions of this article or any ordinances of the city, or the laws of the United States or the state, the violations of which have a bearing or reflect unfavorably on the fitness of the holder to offer public transportation.

    (b)

    The city commission shall have the right to suspend or revoke any operator's permit under this division issued by the city and the right to deny applications for new or renewed permits for just cause. Just cause shall include but not be limited to a finding of any of the following: The applicant or holder of such a permit has been convicted of a felony; or has been convicted of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of either intoxicating liquor or drugs; or if such person has been twice convicted of reckless driving within any period of 12 months; or if such applicant or driver is suffering from a contagious or communicable disease, or defect or impairment of vision or hearing or other physical impairment which would render him incapable of safely driving a motor vehicle; or if the person is not a person of good moral character or fitness.
